FAQs Patent Questions

Question:Where Can I get a Copy of a Patent?

Answer:
Copies of patents can downloaded (for free) from the following websites: The USPTO The European Patent Office These sites only allow one to download patents one page at a time (although you can get the text, without images, from the USPTO all at once) and can be time consuming to obtain. In some instances, it may be easier to order a patent from the USPTO, or from one of many commerical sources such as Dialog and Micropatent.

Question:Status identifier cannot be presented before the claim number.

Answer:
No, the status identifier must be presented after the claim number.

Question:What is a regulatory review period determination?

Answer:
The regulatory review period is the basis for patent extension. Basically, a regulatory review period is composed of two parts: a testing phase, and an approval phase. The testing phase for a human drug product is the period between the effective date of an investigational product exemption (Investigational New Drug Application) and the initial submission of the marketing application (New Drug Application).
